Manga-Style Artwork

These pictures correspond to certain well known criteria that classify artwork as "Manga-Style". Many of them are more or less inspired by certain Mangas, but I have also used this art style to express my own ideas and characters.

I started drawing in the late 1990s during my College time when I was introduced to the topic by the rising popularity of Manga and Anime in Germany. Besides a number of sports-themed Anime one of the most influential Anime series back in the time was "Sailor Moon", which had a huge impact and helped make japanese comics and animation quite popular around here.

Back then the amount of available material was quite small and so I acquired quite a few of the popular Anime. "Ghost in the Shell", "Bubblegum Crisis" and "Record of Lodoss War" are now considered classic.

But it also stirred the ever present desire in me to bring my own creations to paper, and through the more slim and reduced art style I found the courage to finally draw some pictures myself. I also visited a few Anime-conventions and made contact to some other artists which gave me enough drive to keep drawing for some time and maybe even improve a bit.

Unfortunately, I am currently unable to draw as I used to, so most of the pictures here will stand as testimony of what I was once able to achieve.
