Star Wars - Relics of the Sith
Planned Sequel
The epilogue which was also narrated at the end of the 5th episode was, of course, meant to foreshadow a sequel campaign. Although we had the mentioned issues within the group which had led to delays and almost cancellation of the campaign I had not given up hope to add a new story on top of the old one to dive deeper into the secrets and mysteries that were only teased during the first campaign.
Core to this was the fact that the actual heritage of Arckess had never been specified, and so it should have come to light that her parents had been Sith, members of the “Order of the Forbidden Knowledge”. This order saw personal wealth and power as secondary to the understanding of the force and the pursuit and preservation of knowledge – any knowledge – as their primary goals.
When they had gotten twins that featured the birthmarks, were force sensitive and even triggered a force vision they believed the ancient prophecy of Gar Haron was to be fulfilled by their offspring. But not all Sith shared their beliefs. In particular the kind that preferred personal power over any higher goal like the preservation of knowledge were quite reserved and didn’t want to see their influence fade, so they took measures to ensure the prophecy would not be fulfilled.
To protect their children – and with them their future – the parents gave the girl away to an orphanage on planet TR-37X without disclosing her identity. The planet was far enough away from the sphere of influence of their order and other Sith that they deemed her untraceable there. They also hid a slightly force-active book on the shelves of the campus library which was supposed to subconsciously allure their daughter through her force sensitivity while all others would feel a little uneasy and leave it alone.
The boy was given as an apprentice to a renowned Sith-Master, but someone came across the prophecy and ended the parents. The son swore revenge and developed into a “typical” Sith who let passion dominate his actions on many occasions, which was very much to his master’s liking. He didn’t know anything about his twin sister, but had stumbled upon old books that spoke of the prophecy himself. He traced the exact steps that Arckess and her friends already had and so he arrived at the desert temple.
The second campaign would have been built around this young Sith trying to gain as much power, influence and battle prowess as possible to finally enforce his interpretation of the prophecy. Arckess and her friends would have found hints of this and their goal would have been to thwart his plans.
In the end there would have been a lightsaber duel showdown which would have led to the conclusion that the prophecy had specifically meant that both siblings should pursue different aspects of the force – light and dark side – to eventually keep and preserve both ways and their specific knowledge. In addition they were meant to support each other in the fight against the pure dark, evil, power-hungry Sith to create a balance between the two sides so they could harmonize. That would have prevented the rise of more extreme force users that could disturb the balance.
It also implied that only one lightsaber (the green one) was meant for Arckess and the red one for her twin brother. Unfortunately the Jedi player had crossed my plans by destroying both sabers and presented me with a big dilemma.
While still pondering how to get around this problem some other, personal issues had arisen and henceforth prevented a continuation of this campaign, and so it remains as kind of a relic itself.
