Star Wars – Dark Trooper Campaign: A Heart to Conquer

“You all knew them, but this task will make them heralds of a new age for all Sith. Their old names are meaningless now, and so they will be reborn with new fitting names to lead us all to victory.”

An aide stepped up to the group on the pedestal, carrying a small box. Master Cyrus took a black crystal out of it and turned to face the Kaleesh who had taken off his mask and bowed down before his master.

“You are the incarnation of death and you shall henceforth be known as Darth Mortis!” he said and pressed the black crystal into his subordinate’s forehead. There was a short fizzle and a little smoke rising as the crystal burned flesh and dug itself deep into the skull of its wearer. The Kaleesh’s face gave away how painful this procedure must have been, but he passed it without a sound and put on his mask again.

Next was the Zabrak.

“You are the incarnation of war and you shall henceforth be known as Darth Bellara!”

Contrary to Darth Mortis the Zabrak not even flinched when the crystal burned her flesh and left an even bigger impression.

Third was the haggard human.

“You are the incarnation of hunger and you shall henceforth be known as Darth Faminis!”

The human whined and cowered when the crystal was implanted in his skull and it was obvious that he suffered great pain, but he calmed down a few minutes later.

Last was the Falleen.

“You are the incarnation of pestilence and you shall henceforth be known as Darth Maladis!”

The Falleen even laughed during the procedure as if he welcomed his own pain.

“You are the ones that will usher in a new age of the Sith!” Cyrus roared. “You are the heralds of the apocalypse!”

Thundering applause filled the room for several minutes. Afterwards, every Sith-Lord was given the coordinates of a certain star system where they were to perform their ritual. Each herald had his own fleet consisting of one Vitiation-class supercruiser and several Star Destroyers. For their personal safety each herald also received a small group of the newly founded bloodguards, tough non-force-sensitive fighters clad in crimson armor. Since they would be defenseless during the ritual they would rely on their bloodguard to ward off any attempts on their life.

“Man your ships”, Cyrus called. “The hour of the eclipse draws near. Soon, there will be no force in the galaxy able to stop us!”

With this the holo recording ended and all fell silent as the watchers were trying to grab hold of what they just learned.

Finally, Doctor Ravak spoke up: “Well, at least we know what to do: we must stop this madman!”

“Unfortunately, we only have the coordinates of his henchmen. We don’t know where Cyrus himself will be while conducting this ritual”, pondered General Shore.

“That is not entirely true!” Doctor Ravak allowed herself a slight grin and pulled a data chip out of her pocket. She inserted it into the holo projector and a star map appeared.

“We know where he will be. We have reconstructed this data about star constellations from ancient inscriptions. In about 6 days the four star systems mentioned will all go into eclipse at the same time, and each convergence is pointing towards a spot right here in the middle. All four systems align and their power will flow to the center of these crossing lines. This is the exact location where the original dimensional breach enabled him to enter our galaxy, right in the heart of the eclipse. There he will be vulnerable!”

Trance Killian nodded. “This will be the only chance we get to save our galaxy. We must not fail!”

“We won’t fail!” General Shore added with grim determination. “I will rally a fleet from the Republic. You should make haste and contact every able fighter you know! Together we will strike and we will stop Cyrus! This is our galaxy, our home, and we will defend it!”
