Star Wars - Dark Trooper Campaign
The final Prophecy
“You must become more, a beacon of hope!” Master Chi had said all those years ago. Was this what he had seen? Not only a few lives connected to her, but the whole galaxy?
Suddenly she saw Master Chi standing in front of her as he once told her: “Everyone must walk their own path and make their own decisions. But most people only decide for themselves and their impact is rather insignificant. And yet there are beings whose decisions do not only concern themselves, but they touch, alter, and inspire countless lives around them. It is this one moment that can turn the tides of fate. That frees the oppressed and lets empires fall. That puts an end to darkness and brings back hope to the despaired. And hope is what this galaxy needs most as the darkness is almost ready to wipe out all life. You can stop it. It is your choice, and I know you will make it as well as I have made mine.”
This was it! Not her own life mattered, all her pain, her fares and losses, but instead all the hopes, fears, wishes and dreams of all beings in the galaxy! Now she understood.
Trance opened her mind and invited all the beings in the galaxy. She offered her body as a vessel to channel all their hopes. Billions, trillions of beings and more. The force was flowing through her and she was one with the force, one with the galaxy.
Her point of view changed. It was as if she had left her body and was merely a spectator in this immense clash of powers. Her body now seemed to effortlessly absorb the black beam from Master Cyrus and she felt no more pain. Her eyes began to glow white-blue, her blue hair flowed from an unseen wind. A white-blue shimmering aura surrounded her body and it started to float.
She felt a never before known connection to the galaxy, touched the minds of zillions of beings, and yet she was searching only for a single one. She found it, hidden between others, tormented by fear and doubt, and driven by one key- question: “Why has my Mommy left me?”
Trance cried and even her body produced a fine spray of pearly tears. “I’m here, my little star!” she whispered to this mind.
“Mommy?” Shanta whispered back. “Where are you? Why aren’t you with me?”
“I’m with you now, sweetie!” Trance whispered. “And I will always be in your heart!”
“I don’t understand, Mommy. Is that really you on the holo? What’s going on?”
“I can’t explain it all to you now, my little star! But there’s one thing you can be absolutely certain of: I have always loved you and I always will! You are the light in my life that has always brought me back onto my path.”
“Will you come back to me?”
“I don’t know, little star, I don’t know. But if I don’t, always remember: I love you!”
Then the black beam abruptly stopped. Exhausted and bereft of his strength Master Cyrus stared at the body of Trance that was surrounded by wisps of light.
“I command the power of a thousand stars, I am a god in my world! How can you resist me? You merely are a single mortal!”
“No, I am more than just that”, a voice answered that was only partly that of Trance and had a curious hall as if millions of voices were merged together in one. “I am the hope of the whole galaxy that has united against you Cyrus! You are finished!”
With these words the floating figure returned the complete absorbed energy in a purified white beam back onto the dark lord. From her external perspective Trance watched in fascination how the energy flowed back into the former Guardian’s body. Her friends were now free of the force grip and attacked Cyrus with everything they had while avoiding the beam. The dark master cried furiously as his body was pierced by lightsabers, blaster bolts and even welding-torches, and as it was set on fire from the overwhelming energy of the white beam. Then she felt the life essence of Cyrus cease to exist, and at the same time her body stopped the white beam.
Trance was doomed to watch helplessly as the fire inside the dead body of Cyrus reached critical mass and would blow up any second. She wanted to run, jump for cover, but her body no longer obeyed her commands. Her friends were able to get to safety, but then the charred heap that had been Master Cyrus exploded in a blaze of flames. Her floating figure was caught right in the blast wave and was tossed far back, where it smashed against the wall. In this moment the connection to the galaxy was lost and it became dark around her. She felt so much pain at once, that she could not discern one from another.
She wanted to get up, wanted to tell the others to make haste and get the hell out of here, but there was nothing she could do. Her body had exceeded its limits by far, and even though her mind had detached itself from the pain at a certain point, she could not have established a Spirit Link with such a massive number of participants without the special properties of this room. Her body now paid the price, as it was totally burned out and dying.
She gathered all the willpower that she could muster and opened her eyes. She wanted to see her friends at least one last time and make sure they were alright. Their faces were looking down on her, seemingly all of them, but a bit blurred. Trance tried to smile and murmured: “Did… did we make it?”
All of them nodded and Mia said: “Hold on! We get you out of here!”
“Good!” Trance whispered and closed her eyes. She felt peace and tranquility of never before known intensity and then she let go. Her spirit floated skywards and she smiled when she saw her friends carry her lifeless body with them as they left the ritual chamber. She felt the flow of the force in the universe, the harmony, the balance.
“So this is how it feels like to become one with the force”, she thought and was looking forward to travel with the solar winds and see all the unknown corners of the galaxy that she had never managed to visit as a mortal. What wonders would this galaxy still hold for her to see?
